Jurlique Sensitive Introductory Set Review

Jurlique Sensitive Introductory Set Review

If you saw my video on my new skincare routine you will know that I promised a review of the products I used. This is the first of the bunch. If you haven’t seen the video, you can check it out here.

Please note that this is not a sponsored post, I paid for all of the products myself after doing a lot of reading up on the products. This is my honest opinion about the products.

Jurlique Sensitive Introductory Set Review

Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser

What is says on the package:

A soap-free foaming cleanser, helps to gently remove makeup and impurities, while conditioning and aiding in overall skin wellness.

Ingredient: Sichuan Peppercorn Extract has a gentle, warming and soothing effect that calms delicate skin, rebalancing sensitivity.

The packaging:

This is a miniature version of the full size cleanser, but it doesn’t have the pump the full size version has due to it’s small size. I like it. It’s easy to get a small amount out to wash your face.

The product:

It is a really lovely foaming cleanser. It feels great on the skin. I have to say that I can’t feel the Sichuan Peppercorn Extract warming my skin, but it feels great regardless. I wouldn’t count on this cleanser to remove heavy duty makeup. I use it as a second cleanser after my oil cleanser.

Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Calming Mist

What is says on the package:

An alcohol-free lightweight and refreshing mist to help calm, hydrate and clarify skin

Ingredient: Cucumber Extract Rich in vitamins and antioxidant benefits, this extract offers skin soothing and refreshing properties to help reduce skin sensitivity.

The packaging:

This is a miniature version of the full size mist. Lovely glass bottle spray that feels great in the hand.

The product:

I spritz one to two sprays on my palm and I gently pat it on my face and neck. It feels fresh and wonderful on the skin. I have noticed that my pores have been getting clearer and smaller after using the introductory kit.

Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Restorative Treatment Serum

What is says on the package:

A serum to help provide a natural protective barrier against environmental aggressors and helps restore the skin’s epidermal defences.

Ingredient: Aloe Vera Extract A natural humectant, rich in beneficial polysaccharides and amino acids, is known for its ability to provide intense hydration as well as soften and soothe delicate skin.

The packaging:

This is a miniature version of the full size serum. Lovely glass bottle with a pump,  that is very similar to the mist. This is the only item of the introductory set that has a bit of an issue with the packaging. The serum tends to dry in the nozzle on the pump, it can cause the serum to squirt out in surprising directions. But if you just keep and eye on the pump and clean it regularly there is no problem.

The product:

The serum feel really nice on the skin. I think it feels slightly tightening and lifting. It definitely feels hydrating and soothing. I need to follow up with the moisturizing cream as my skin feels a little too tight if I just left it on its own. But if you have oily skin, you might be able to skip the next step.

Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturising Cream

What is says on the package:

A rich moisturising cream to deeply hydrate and soothe, while protecting against environmental aggressors.

Ingredient: Calendula Extract Known for its pronounced soothing properties, it is traditionally used to help rebalance sensitivity on the skin.

The packaging:

This is a miniature version of the full size cream. Plastic tube with a screw top. I personally like when creams come in tubes, I feel like it’s much more hygienic than glass jar. So I’m happy with the packaging.

The product:

The texture of the cream I wasn’t happy about at first. It is very thick. It does say that you have to warm it up in you hands before applying it to the face and neck and that does help on the texture a little. The first time I tried it I didn’t like it. When you first put it on, it feel like you have put on a really heavy cream. But after 5 minutes the feeling disappears and your skin feels soothed. I have very dry skin, so I have to put Jurlique Sun Specialist SPF40 High Protection Cream PA+++ on top before I put my makeup on, otherwise my skin feels tight. Despite my reservations in the beginning I have grown to love this cream. It keeps my skin calm and I have far less breakouts than I used to have.

I am going to continue on with the full size products once I’m done with the introductory set. So far they have lasted for a long time, this last set I got in early September and the only product that has run out is the cleanser, which I have bought a full size of a week ago. Otherwise, I think I have a month left of product in the mist and serum, and about a week of the cream left.

Have you tried the range yet? I would love to hear about your experiences with Jurlique or other products for dry/sensitive skin.
