This Mid Week Mini is a review on Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the color Aria. Aria is a gorgeous plummy magenta.
I’ve just recently gotten into lipsticks. Ever since I was a teenager I’ve always felt like lipsticks were really grown up and I never really got into the habit of wearing lipstick on a daily basis. Now at 37 I still haven’t gotten used to the idea and I’m always a little paranoid about lipstick traveling and ending up all over my face and teeth – nightmare! So little by little i’ve been getting used to wearing lipstick. Still not on a daily basis, but that is because hardly any of my colleagues wear lipstick at work (I guess it’s the low key danish style playing a part in that), so I would feel awkward wearing a bright / dark lip at work. But I have used my Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 025 Peach Parfait (review here).
But onto the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.
The lipstick promises a full coverage matte finish of bleed proof and transfer proof continues wear. It does deliver on the full cover matte finish, it goes on opaque and dries down to a matte finish.
In the picture below I applied the lipstick without lining my lips with a lip pencil. The doe foot applicator is easy to work with as long as you are careful not to spread too much lipstick at the edges of your lips. I didn’t experience any bleeding of the lipstick into fine lines.
I did a transfer test after 30 minutes and there was hardly anything on the paper. So I would say that it’s pretty much transfer proof as long as you let it dry completely.
I am really impressed with Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick and I adore the color. Aria is so pretty. One downside is that it is a little drying. But that is to be expected from a matte lipstick. I prep my lips by exfoliating them well and applying lip balm before I do my makeup, so when it’s time to finish with my lips the lip balm has done it’s magic and my lips are ready for the lipstick.
I will for sure get more colors of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. I have my eye on Patina, Dolce, Como, and Bella.
